Wooden floors can be lowered by ‘under-boarding’. Removing the existing floor boards, fixing battens and plywood, finishing level with the top of the joists. If the tray is to be laid onto the existing floorboards, they must be in good condition and must be screwed down at very close centres. When the tray is laid onto a concrete floor, the surface below the tray must be perfectly flat, with a channel for the trap & waste pipe. Care must be taken when preparing the slopes to the drain in all applications.
